Look, we'll be honest. We roasted this Kenyan beauty to a lighter profile because we wanted to preserve all those glorious fruity compounds that make it rather special. Blackberry, peach, and plum notes dance about with a balanced acidity that's pleasingly tart without being the sort of thing that makes you pull a face. The acids and sugars are still intact, giving you the best this African coffee bean has to offer. It's the kind of coffee that makes you wonder why you bothered with instant for so long.

Tasting Notes

Blackberry, peach and plum with a gently brightening acidity

Brewing Guide

V60: 13g coffee, medium grind. Add 30g boiled water and stir. Rest 30 seconds. Add 120g water, rest 30 seconds. Add 100g water. Total brew time 3 minutes 15 seconds to 3 minutes 45 seconds.

Aeropress: 13g coffee, medium grind. Add 30g boiled water and stir. Add 170g water and stir. Brew for 45 to 60 seconds. Extract and serve. Total brew time 1 minute 30 seconds to 1 minute 45 seconds.

Cafetiere: 40g coffee, coarse grind, suitable for 3 people. Add 96g boiled water and stir. Top up to 1 inch below the spout and stir again. Brew for 2 minutes, press and pour.

Espresso: Shot temperature 95 degrees Celsius. Single shot 12g in to 18 to 20g out, 28 to 32 seconds. Double shot 18g in to 28 to 30g out, 28 to 32 seconds.
