Shipping & Delivery

Every brand on Söstter ships directly from their own studio, workshop or home — which means your order is packed by the actual people who made it.

Where We Ship.

We ship to over 50 countries worldwide. If yours isn't appearing at checkout, drop us a line at info@sostter.pro and we'll see what we can do.

International Delivery.

This applies to anywhere outside the UK.

How it works.

Every Söstter maker ships their pieces directly, using a courier suited to what they're sending — anything from Royal Mail for smaller items to a specialist courier service for furniture and larger or fragile pieces. At checkout, you'll be shown:

— Bespoke shipping costs based on your delivery location and what's in your basket.

— Estimated delivery times for each maker, calculated in real time so you know what to expect.

What you see at checkout is what you pay — no surprise fees or hidden costs.

Delivery restrictions.

We'd love to send every item everywhere, but a few things are worth flagging:

— Some products are excluded from international delivery due to size, weight, or customs regulations. This particularly applies to larger or fragile items — furniture, mirrors, ceramics, large lighting.

— Lighting and other electrical items are typically fitted with UK plugs. Depending on where you are, you may need an adapter or voltage converter.

— If an item is unavailable for international delivery, this will be clearly indicated on the product page or at checkout.

Taxes & duties.

Local taxes and duties are calculated and included at checkout where possible, so there are no unexpected charges when your parcel arrives.

For some destinations, duties remain payable to the carrier on receipt — this will always be shown clearly before you pay.
If an order is refused and returned to the maker as a result, original shipping costs will be deducted from your refund.

How Long Will It Take — A Word On Timing.

Every maker on Söstter works at their own pace — which is rather the point of buying from independent makers. Before your order is dispatched, the lead time depends on the maker and, in some cases, how long it takes them to make your specific item. Worth checking the product page for any estimated dispatch times.

Once it's on its way, most UK orders arrive within 2–4 working days. We'll always do our best, though we can't guarantee exact delivery dates — independent makers and couriers being what they are.

UK orders — typically 2–4 working days

International orders — typically 5–7 working days

Made-to-order items — some products are made specifically for you and may take a little longer. Estimated dispatch times are shown on the product page.

Express Delivery.

Not every maker offers express delivery — it's entirely their choice, and rather depends on what they make and where they're based. If it's available for a product, you'll see it clearly on the product page and at checkout.

What does it cost? Each maker sets their own express rate depending on the size and weight of what you're ordering. You'll see the exact price at checkout before you pay — no surprises.

One rather nice thing: if you're ordering multiple items from the same maker, express delivery is only charged once — at the highest rate of the items in your basket. So three items, one charge. Sensible.

How fast is it? Once dispatched, express orders typically arrive within 1 working day. We can't guarantee this in every case — couriers being couriers — but makers do their best to get things moving quickly.

Most makers aim to dispatch within 24 hours. Once your order is on its way you'll receive a tracking number by email.

Where Does My Order Ship From?

Directly from the maker — from their studio, workshop or kitchen table. This is what shopping small actually looks like.

If you've ordered from more than one maker in the same basket, your parcels will arrive separately. Each one packed by a real person, which we think is rather better than a warehouse.

A Few Common Questions.

How much does shipping cost?

Shipping is calculated per maker at checkout, based on your location and the maker's origin. You'll see the exact cost before you pay.

Who delivers my order?

That depends on the maker. Smaller items typically go via Royal Mail, DPD or similar; larger or fragile items — furniture, mirrors, big ceramics, lighting — usually go by a specialist courier the maker has chosen. International orders are mostly handled by DHL or DPD. The maker uses whoever's best suited to what they're sending.

Can I track my parcel?

Yes. Once your order has been dispatched you'll receive an email with a tracking number. It can take up to 24 hours to go live, depending on the courier.

Will my order arrive in one delivery?

If you've bought from more than one maker, your parcels will arrive separately — each maker dispatches their own piece. The dates may differ too, depending on each maker's lead times. Your order confirmation will list what's coming from where.

My order hasn't arrived — what do I do?

First, check the estimated delivery date on your order confirmation. If that date has passed, email us at info@sostter.pro and we'll chase the maker and the courier on your behalf. We can only investigate once the last estimated working day has passed — couriers occasionally run a day or two late.

What if I'm not in when my order arrives?

Most couriers will make 1–2 delivery attempts. If they can't reach you, your parcel will usually be held at a local access point for 7–10 days before being returned to the sender. For larger items delivered by specialist courier, rebooking a missed slot can take longer — sometimes up to a few weeks, depending on the courier and your location.

Can I change my delivery address?

Email us at info@sostter.pro as soon as possible — we'll do our best to help.

Do you deliver to a specific room?

Couriers will deliver to your door, but they won't carry items into a specific room or upstairs. For larger pieces — sofas, mirrors, dining tables — please arrange for someone to help you bring it in. Worth measuring doorways, hallways and stairwells before you order, particularly for furniture.

Do you remove the packaging?

No — packaging stays with you. It's recyclable wherever the maker has been able to manage it, and it's also useful to hang onto in case of a return.

Will furniture come assembled?

Most items arrive ready to use. Some pieces — flatpack furniture, lighting that requires hardwiring — need assembly or installation. The product page will tell you if this is the case, and most makers include instructions in the box. Couriers don't assemble, so factor that in if you've ordered something larger.
