A Note on Our Naming
These loungers are named in honour of the near-threatened beluga whale. Increased shipping means more underwater noise that can mask communications for many Arctic marine species. This acoustic pollution negatively affects their ability to find food and mates, navigate, avoid predators and care for their young.
