Bobbi Beck was founded in 2021 during lockdown by James Mellan-Matulewicz, his wife Rebecca, and their friend Jason — three people who had spent years inside the wallpaper industry and shared the same frustration: the luxury end of the market was beautiful but unnecessarily closed off. Prices hidden behind trade accounts, purchasing buried under layers of reps and retailers, and a sustainability story told loudly but evidenced poorly. The three of them set up a design and print studio in Cornwall and did it differently. Every roll is made to order in-house. The BREEAM-certified studio runs on 100% renewable energy. Paper comes from FSC-certified sustainable forests. Inks are Greenguard Gold certified for low VOCs and indoor air quality. Packaging is 100% plastic-free and recyclable. Logistics carbon is offset through UPS. And at the end of each year, total company carbon output is calculated — 13 tonnes in 2024 — and offset in full through Gold Standard projects via Ecologi. This is carbon neutrality measured and accounted for, not purchased as a label.

The wallpaper itself ranges from bold geometric prints and florals to murals and statement patterns across four paper types: Premium and Peel & Stick (both PVC-free and 95% plant-based cellulose), and Luxury and Superluxe Silk (at least 20% recycled content, built for durability). The design approach is intentionally broad — confident colour, graphic pattern, and enough variety that the collection works equally well in a small cloakroom or a large drawing room. Samples are available. Trade accounts offer 10% for designers and architects. Delivery is typically within a week of ordering, including internationally.
