The story of BellaMoon begins with Bella — founder Irene Breen's daughter, born in Belfast, and a baby who fed on demand every two hours. Exhausted but determined to continue breastfeeding, Irene researched how other mothers coped and discovered the universal lateral breastfeeding position: lying on your side, feeding your baby next to you, getting something approaching rest in the process. She couldn't find a pillow designed for it. So she designed one herself. BellaMoon was born.

Over two years of design, development and testing with infant sleep specialists at a UK university later, BellaMoon launched as the world's first modular pregnancy and lateral breastfeeding pillow — a product that no one else makes, doing something that millions of mothers needed.
